Blessed...

This week has been filled with so much excitement, but also with just little disappointment. Except I don't think disappointment is the correct phrase......let's just say sad news. My roommate just left to Anchorage for the weekend. I guess she couldn't handle living with me after 3 weeks. What can I say, I can get a little too rowdy sometimes. This has given me the time to list all the little things I've been blessed with. Kinda like cool friends that you can just make imitations with of the people around you, it's pretty great. Or friends that give you ice packs after playing rough basketball game and encourage you on the court even when you make lots of really bad fouls. And friends who just laugh at your jokes when they aren't even funny. And the list continues...

Anyways, onto some really big updates on my life. I was recently chosen to go on a Mission Trip to Mexico over Spring Break along with several other selected students. (Sorry you have to find out on the internet mom.) I am going to start a fundraiser for the trip, so I'll probably start something on GoFund or something that sounds pretty legit. I'm also looking into a flight school in Kenai, that I hopefully will start training at in the next couple weeks. YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW EXCITING THAT IS. The dance group that I am a part of had the privilege to dance at the Governor's ball in Kenai. Except I had no idea who the governor was, so every man in the audience could have claimed they were Bill Walker and I wouldn't have any idea. I googled it once I got back in my room, thank God for google. But other than that it was pretty exciting. I also got to play basketball with the girls team, we lost today but we treated ourselves with McDonalds anyways.

On the sad news of the end, I was told that my cousin who is in the hospital is back on the breathing tube. She is hanging in there, but my family and I would appreciate prayers, and recovery. She's been in the hospital for a good week now, and hoping she gets to breath on her own again.

Also, my roommate's birthday is on Saturday. Sadly, she's on her weekend break, I can't spend it with her. She's been a great blessing to have as both a friend and roommate. And my roommate I had last semester, just had a baby yesterday! I can't contain all this excitement I just might have to run and scream all over campus. Happy 20th to Kaitlyn, hope all your days are full of life, happiness, adventure, and laughter. Congratulations to Lyla on her handsome baby boy, welcome to the world, Braydon Coopchiak.

I'm not in the picture, neither is the unknown governor, but believe me we're there. PC to the RS Chelsea Koop

Birthday Girl!

The handsome baby, Braydon Coopchiak.

Trying to figure it out...

Well first of all, I started blogging! And I'm still trying to figure out how to customize everything and make a cool appearance so I can get cool readers like you. I'm into my second semester of college, I still can't get my head wrapped around the fact that I'm a college student! Currently majoring in Christian Ministry, and working on getting into flight training at MARC (Missionary Aviation Repair Center).  I couldn't be any more excited to start flying! I'm in the process of volunteering as a leader for Young Life in the area, but it's tough getting around town with out a vehicle, but I'm getting around!

Anyways, these last 2 weeks at school, I've learned so much. I'm living with one of my great friends from highschool, Kaitlyn. She's pretty awesome. Late night laughter and crazy adventures. OUR ROOM IS FREEZING because we keep the window cracked, using it as a refrigerator. Turns out its a freezer instead, we found our water bottles frozen sitting on the window sill. Alaska's winter has been crazy, we don't have as much snow as usual, but it's been snow and getting colder, I'M SO EXCITED. I've been on an adventure craze, so I drag a couple my friends out to adventure town, all the time. Living on campus, and eating cafeteria food gets really old, really fast. So I learned that when I leave home, never leave without dry fish and akutaq. Dry fish is fish that is dried for a couple days, and then smoked. Not exactly smoking and inhaling it, but smoking as you put it in a little shed with the fish hanging and a little burning fire to smoke the fish. Akutaq, is also known as Eskimo Ice Cream. It's salmonberries, blueberries, or berries of your choice mixed in whipped crisco added with sugar. Makes for a great lunch or dinner!
